I am going to have a new strategy for 2009. I used to be a member of the Nielson Homescan panel, but I really found it annoying scanning everything in and I wasn't able to get all my pics up here. I prob have about 15 or so pics from last year that I still did not add in here. I might add them tonight because of all the good deals I got at the KMart double deals event!
I think that this year I will have three different tallies. I will have money left to spend, money made (for the money I make off the sales of the products in yard sales) and the third tally will be the amount that I saved. I want to track more thoroughly what I am exactly doing. My husband wants to make sure that I am not spending too much money on this little hobby of mine, although I don't understand because he gets to reap the benefits of the food and other products he can use that we would have probably paid full price for anyways. I think that I am doing great. The only difference is that sometimes I buy tons of one thing that I know I don't need but can sell at the garage sale. For example, I have a ton of the toothpaste that I REALLY like. But I still get toothpaste any time that it is free, so I probably had bought at least a hundred tubes of toothpaste last year. But I sell it for either $1 or $2 at my sales. So, I see it as both getting to have fun saving money, and making money too!
Anyways.... I have bought newspapers this year and will start the tallies off with that. Also, I have gone to Walgreens once and Meijer once. I think that I will also add in other purchases that I make and allow myself $100 month for all my spending/sales/deals/etc.
So far, with the newspapers:
Left to Spend: $1200-$10 newspapers for Jan 4-$15 newspapers for Jan 11= $1175
Money Made: $0 (too cold for sales!)
Money Saved: $0 (this shall change VERY soon!!)
Well, off to get newspapers for this week, take photos and get everything together for my first month of the new year of blogging!!
